Hobby Farm and Garden

Welcome to our Family Hobby Farm and Garden website. This is a combination of a family-oriented website and a place where we sell some organics produced from our property. Our home is tucked away on a quiet 10+ acres about 10 minutes north of Lloydminster. We are far enough away from the city to not have the “city life” but close enough that it isn’t a headache to run into town

We have some beautiful views and an amazing array of wildlife that graces us with its presence. From foxes, hawks, falcons, an eagle from time to time, and let’s not forget the owl who simply can be heard but not seen from time to time in the middle of the night. Not far from the property we have seen moose, deer and bears!

Of course our hobby farm has it’s fair share of black tailed prairie dogs and some local roaming coyotes on the prowl for a good meal. We also have some amazing spruce, cedar and pine trees with a mix of maple trees. Oh, those maple trees spring up everywhere. We have a couple of amazing crab apple trees that the pigs on the property will benefit from. Pigs just love those sweet crab apples!

I personally am fascinated with all the different birds on the property from a couple different breeds of woodpeckers to various finch, magpies, hummingbirds, variety of sparrows and my favourite the barn swallows. The barn swallows are naturally the most valuable to our property as they absolutely feast on their favourite insects which we deem as pests. Of course, they may build the odd mud nest where we may not want it, BUT, it is definitely a small price to pay for the millions of bugs they decimate each year they return.
